2012 Regional Canyoning Weekend
On the weekend of the 22nd of December SC&T Rovers organised the annual Regional Canyoning weekend for the Rovers and Venturers of our region. The weekend is always a chance to get outside, practice our abseiling skills and explore some of the best canyons our country has to offer. This year’s trip was held at Newnes with Venturers and Rover Scouts attending from Balgownie, Russel Vale, Austinmer and Shoalhaven.
Trips were run for all levels of ability with the beginners testing out there skills in Twister and Rocky creek canyon while the more experienced canyoneers explored Tiger snake with its many abseils. After a campfire at night Sunday was met with a full day of canyoning at Mt Wilson.
Overall it was a very successful weekend, enjoyed by Venturers, Rover Scouts and Leaders alike. A big thanks to Kusi for organising the weekend and to the all instructors who gave up their time to make the weekend possible.
